Our ImportantInspiringCollective Mission
- Campaigning for the Betsi Cadwaladr Health Board to provide funding to improve the technology and treatment types here in Wrexham, and in parallel to also have access in the region to robotic technology in a timely manner.
- Since 2019, the Group have raised over £80,000 through various fundraising initiatives and we aim to purchase focal therapy technology to help treat prostate cancer patients here in Wrexham. Our revised target is £100,000
- We have set ourselves the objective of helping to make the Maelor Hospital a leading centre for prostate cancer treatment.
- High on our priority list is the insistence that GP surgeries offer a PSA test to those who request one and improve their processes for feeding back results.
- We will channel our efforts to become more vocal in lobbying for change especially the campaign for National screening.
- There is a desire to recruit even more members and work alongside the Urology team to improve the number of referrals from the Maelor Hospital.
- We will continue to support professors, scientists and researchers at Aberystwyth University to develop a new, improved approach to testing for the presence of prostate cancer.
- We intend in the early part of 2026 to offer free blood tests to men in our region – financial support to fund this initiative is being sought.
