I was detected with Prostate Cancer during COVID. Many of our members have the belief if there is cancer inside the prostate lets “GET RID” so I too opted to sign up to have a prostatectomy operation to remove mine. I was aware of the lack of treatment options in Wales for Da Vinci robotic surgery and the solution at the moment is to travel to London for surgery. However, due to Covid arrangements were made for me to be operated on at Arrowe Park Hospital. Nick’s advice is pretty blunt “it is imperative that post op, each patient follows the guidelines and exercises to the letter of the law. It was not easy at first but the rewards are rich and before I knew it, I was truly back to normal, my PSA is undetectable and living a normal life doing plenty of cycling and enjoying my other hobby which is cycling.

Many of our members have the belief if there is cancer inside the prostate lets “GET RID” The vast majority of our members have suffered by the lack of treatment options in Wales for Da Vinci robotic surgery and the majority of patients have had to travel to London for surgery albeit, we are optimistic pretty soon, NHS Wales will put in place arrangements to start using the Wirral NHS.
